Round One Audition dates announced for CA's Hear My Voice Teen Idol Competition
Round One Auditions for the Hear My Voice Teen Idol Competition will be held Tuesday, September 14 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Slayton House and Thursday, September 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Columbia Teen Center. Regional winners will advance to the semi-finals on Tuesday, September 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. at The Mall in Columbia. Selected finalists will compete at the Hear My Voice Teen Idol Competition on Sunday, October 10 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Downtown Columbia Lakefront. This year’s winner will be awarded a $300 cash prize. Runners-up will receive gift cards to the Mall in Columbia. All Columbia Teen Idol finalists must agree to participate in the Hear My Voice community service project. On Saturday, October 9, finalists will serve breakfast and spend time with residents at Brighton Gardens.
Auditions are open to Howard County youth, grades 6-12. No music is necessary for auditions. Singing and rap performers are welcome to audition; however, any use of profanity, sexual innuendo and references to drugs/alcohol will be grounds for disqualification.

The Columbia Association’s (CA) Hear My Voice Teen Idol Competition is sponsored by the Columbia Teen Center, a fun, safe place for youth ages 9-18 to socialize and participate in programs designed to promote self- esteem and develop life skills; the CA Teen Advisory Committee, made up of local teens who bring new and exciting opportunities to the teen community in Howard County; and the Columbia Community Exchange, a community-based Time Banking program offered by CA.
